“Lisbeth Zwerger, one of the world’s most acclaimed children’s book illustrators, is well known for illustrating classic tales.

She has brought her brush to The Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, and The Nutcracker, as well as many Grimm Brothers fairytales. Her work is both captivating and lyrical, and always filled with a sense of whimsy. Lisbeth Zwerger has won numerous awards for her work, including the prestigious Hans Christian Andersen Medal, presented to her in 1990 to recognize her lifetime contribution to children’s literature.

Her most recent books for Minedition are The Little Mermaid and The Night Before Christmas as well as the recent Tales from the Brother Grimm launched in Britain here at the gallery in October 2012.”

For the final calendar project please begin your research via Pinterest and such. Explore which of the following themes you will illustrate and design:
• cities of the world
• flora
• endangered species
• mid century modern furniture
** PLEASE BRING IN SKETCHES FOR THE THEME YOU HAVE SELECTED AND MAKE A CALENDAR PINTEREST BOARD (MANDATORY)

SPECS:
– set up 4 illustrator templates including 3 months each either 6×11 or 11×14 V E R T I C A L
(NO OTHER SIZE PLEASE)

– consider a small bit of packaging for this project (belly band/muslin bag with hang tag, etc) – you can use Photoshop to tweak, retouch, or morph/cut apart illustrations but please do not output in Photoshop. Please use illustrator
